If you’re looking to stay in the heart of Old San Juan, there are plenty of options. Here are nine cozy places to stay in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico that will have you feeling like you’re in the lap of luxury.

1) Hotel El Convento

After you’ve had your fill of historic architecture and culture, you’ll likely want a place that feels more like home. Thankfully, you can find cozy places to stay in old san juan, where spacious rooms include modern amenities like Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs. Hotel El Convento is a historic hotel that opened its doors over two centuries ago as a convent. The sprawling lodging complex has dozens of elegant rooms with plush bedding and private bathrooms. Once you check into one of these rooms, it will feel just like home—albeit with some cool decor that evokes images of old san juan. Inside your room, expect to find features like private balconies overlooking gorgeous views and hardwood floors atop original floorboards from around 1800 AD.

2) Casa del Mar

Looking for a quiet little nook for your vacation? Then look no further than Casa del Mar. This little hotel offers you an intimate and private place to stay in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. It is only a 10-minute walk from Plaza del Mercado, where you can find tasty treats and nightlife galore. If you’re looking for some peace and quiet during your trip to Puerto Rico, look no further than Casa del Mar.

3) La Quinta Gallery Inn

The Gallery Inn has all you could want from a San Juan romantic hotel: an impressive wine list, incredibly attentive service and one of the best rooftop terraces on old San Juan. It's also pretty reasonably priced for an island that caters to tourists with deep pockets. The hotel offers a package that allows couples to book just one room, which is pretty sweet (pardon my pun). I guess what we're saying is if you're looking for a little privacy while keeping it romantic on your trip then La Quinta is a great choice!

4) Prado Inn

The Prado Inn may be one of our favorite romantic hotels in Puerto Rico. The hotel overlooks La Fortaleza and Castillo de San Cristóbal, two landmarks that contribute to its breathtaking ocean views. Just beyond those beautiful structures is El Morro, a 16th-century citadel and another impressive view worth waking up to. After breakfast on your patio, explore Old San Juan with your loved one before ending your day at a nearby spot for dinner—and drinks—at sunset.
